Class Check-In

The Class Check-In screen shows the attendance list for a class, letting coaches mark participants as checked in and view who is registered.

Written by Ronny Christensen

How to get here

1. Open the Booking Board app.

2. Tap Classes in the bottom navigation bar.

3. Find the class you want to view attendance for and tap it.

4. Tap Attendance to open the check-in screen.

You are now on the check-in screen.

Step-by-step guide

1. Loading the screen

When the screen opens, the app fetches data from the server. While this happens, a loading animation (a skeleton layout) is shown.

Loading data: A skeleton layout with placeholders for the participant list. Wait a moment.

Data loaded: The full participant list with class information.

Error loading: An error screen with a calendar icon, a message that the class is not available, and a Retry button.

2. App bar (top)

Back arrow: Tap to go back to the previous screen (class details).

Attendance (title): Shows the heading “Attendance”, confirming you are on the attendance screen.

3. Participant list

The main part of the screen shows a list of all registered participants. Each participant is shown with relevant information about their registration. The list is fetched from the server’s registered bookings for the class.

4. Instructor functions (instructors only)

If you are logged in as an instructor (or have a role that allows checking in members), you get additional options.

Participant actions: As an instructor you can mark participants as present or absent.

Instructors are identified automatically based on their account role. If you are a regular member, you can only view the participant list — you cannot change others’ attendance status.

5. Pull to refresh

Pull down on the screen to reload all data. The app fetches class details, participants, instructors, your account and feedback again. This is useful if a new participant has just registered, or if another instructor has updated the attendance.

6. Error screen

If an error occurs during loading, an error screen is shown instead of the participant list.

Calendar error icon: A grey calendar icon indicating something went wrong.

Error message: Explains that the class is not currently available.

Retry: Tap to attempt to load data again from the server.
