How to get here
Open the Booking Board app.
Tap the menu icon (☰) in the top left corner, or open the side menu.
Tap Chat in the menu.
You are now on the Chat overview.
Step-by-step guide
Step 1 — Navigation bar
At the top of the screen you will find the navigation bar with the following elements:
Menu icon (☰)
Opens the side menu so you can navigate to other parts of the app.
Title ("Chat")
Shows the name of the current screen.
Step 2 — Loading view
When the screen opens for the first time, a loading animation (skeleton loading) is shown while your conversations are being fetched. Wait a moment — your chats will appear automatically when they are ready.
Step 3 — Swipe guide (first time)
The first time you visit the Chat overview, a dialog is shown explaining the swipe feature. The dialog shows a red arrow and the text: "Swipe left to delete". Tap Got it to close the dialog. It will not appear again.
Step 4 — Conversation list
All your active conversations are shown in a list, sorted by most recent message (newest first). Each conversation shows sender information and a preview of the most recent message. Tap a conversation to open it and read or send messages.

Shows a single conversation. Tap to open it.
Empty state
Shown when you have no active conversations, with the message: "You have no active chats" and a chat icon.
Step 5 — Delete a conversation (swipe)
Swipe a conversation to the left to reveal the delete button (red background with a bin icon). A confirmation dialog appears asking: "Are you sure you want to delete this chat?" Tap DELETE to confirm, or tap the other button to cancel and keep the conversation.

Asks whether you really want to delete the conversation to prevent accidental deletion.

Shown at the bottom of the screen after deletion with the text "Chat removed".
Step 6 — Create new chat
Tap the round + button (floating action button) in the bottom right corner. A new conversation is created automatically and you are taken directly to the new chat.

Step 7 — Pull to refresh
Pull the list downwards to refresh your conversations from the server. A loading indicator is shown at the top while data is being fetched. The list updates automatically when new data is available.
Step 8 — Automatic real-time updates
The Chat overview updates automatically when new messages are received. You do not need to refresh manually — new messages and changes to conversations appear immediately. When you return to the app from the background, listening for new messages resumes automatically.
