How to Change Your Stripe Payout Schedule from Manual to Automatic

If you're waiting for your funds to appear in your bank account but nothing has arrived yet, your Stripe payout schedule may be set to 'Manual'. When set to Manual, payouts won’t be sent to your bank account automatically, as you’ll need to manually trigger them.

To start receiving your Stripe funds automatically, you need to switch your payout schedule to Automatic.

How to Check if Your Payout Schedule is Set to Manual

Step 1: Log in to your Stripe Dashboard

Go to dashboard.stripe.com and sign in.

Step 2: Go to Settings

In the left-hand menu, scroll down and click Settings (⚙️).

Step 3: Select 'Payouts and Bank Accounts'

Under the 'Payments and Payouts' section, choose Payouts and Bank Accounts (or just 'Payouts' depending on your interface).

Step 4: Check Your Payout Schedule

Here, you’ll see whether your account is set to Manual, Daily, Weekly, or Monthly payouts.

How to Change Your Payout Schedule to Automatic

To allow Stripe to automatically transfer your funds to your bank account, here are the steps you can take:

Step 1: Access your Dashboard

In your Dashboard, navigate to Settings > Payouts and Bank Accounts > Edit Payout Schedule.

Step 2: Choose a Payout Schedule:

Automatic – Daily, Weekly, or Monthly: Pick the one that works best for you.

  • Daily: Stripe will transfer eligible funds every day (based on your payout delay).

  • Weekly: Pick a day of the week.

  • Monthly: Pick a specific day of the month.

Step 3: Save your changes

Once you have set your payout schedule, make sure to save the changes made.

How to Trigger a Manual Payout (If You Still Use a 'Manual' Schedule)

If you prefer to stay on manual or just need to move funds now:

  1. Go to your Stripe Dashboard > Balance.

  2. Click 'Pay out funds' or 'Send funds to bank'.

  3. Choose the amount and destination bank account.

  4. Confirm and submit the payout.

When Will I Receive My Payout After Switching to Automatic?

Stripe payouts depend on your country and business type. New Stripe accounts have a payout delay of 7-14 days, but once the funds are eligible, they’ll be sent automatically based on your new schedule. Check your specific payout timing here: Stripe Payout Timing by Country
