The only requirement to merge applications is both applications have to be for the same property/unit. For reference on how to change the subject property/unit, please use the link below.
If both applications are for the same property/unit, please click the checkboxes to the left side of the applicant name on all the applications you would like to merge.
Then, click the pink button in the bottom right hand corner that says "Merge applications".
Once clicked, you will have to select which application you would like to merge the other one into. Once selected, please click continue and then complete merge.
You will now see one application with all selected applicants grouped together.
Error: “This application already has an active applicant with the same contact details”
If you see this error when confirming a merge, it means the same person appears in both application groups — usually because they started an application twice using the same email address or phone number.
Merging would create two active records for one person, so the merge is blocked until the duplicate is resolved.
To fix it, review the applicant list in the confirmation window and look for the same person listed twice, which may appear with slightly different name formatting, for example “Michael R. Caldwell” and “Michael Caldwell.” Cancel the duplicate applicant in one of the groups, then try the merge again.
If you’re not sure which record to cancel, or the error persists after cancelling the duplicate, contact support@boompay.app.
