Restricting Interpreters and Requestors from Editing or Canceling Appointments

LSC Administrators can restrict requestors and/or interpreters from canceling or editing scheduled appointments within a set time period before the start time. This article covers the setting and, for subscription requestors, cancellation rules.

Restrict editing and canceling

1. Navigate to Configuration>Company>Appointments.

2. Select Canceling/Editing Scheduled Appointments.

3. Turn on the restriction you want, each with its own time-before-start window:

o Restrict Interpreters — limits interpreters canceling their participation.

o Restrict Requestors - Standard Workflow — limits standard requestors editing or canceling.

o Restrict Requestors - Subscriptions Workflow — limits subscription requestors.

4. Use the provided message, or create a custom one, to show users who try to edit or cancel within the window.

Note: Requestors have two warning-message options — one for when they attempt to cancel, and another for when they attempt to edit.

Restricting subscription requestors

If you have requestors on a subscription model, you can set a timeframe to prevent subscription users from canceling, and add cancellation rules to charge a fee based on when they cancel.

For example, a common setup charges more the later the cancellation:

  • Canceled within 2 hours of start → 100% of the duration.

  • Canceled within 24 hours of start → 75% of the duration.

  • Canceled within 72 hours of start → 50% of the duration.

Note: This option is only available for requestors set up on a subscription model. Contact your Account Manager for more information. (The figures above are examples, not recommended fees.)
