Before using the InterpretManager app in Microsoft Teams, it helps to know what’s supported and what isn’t. This article lists the current interpreter, caller, availability, and login limitations.
Interpreter limitations
Calls are not routed to interpreters using mobile devices.
Interpreters can’t use virtual backgrounds.
Interpreters can’t see a “live-mode” screen share. (Regular screen sharing is supported.)
In the caller
Chat is not supported.
The End Call button isn’t available — end the call by removing the interpreter from the meeting. See Ending an interpretation session in Teams.
Dial-out to additional parties isn’t supported from the caller. Do this from the Teams application instead.
App availability
The InterpretManager app is only available from the Apps menu.
Free and Personal Teams plans are not supported.
Impromptu Teams calls are not supported — the app works only in scheduled meetings.
Login options
Only email/password or Microsoft SSO is supported. Microsoft SSO is supported in the US only.
To use another login method, sign into InterpretManager in a separate tab in the same browser window.
