Introduction

The shipping feature in the Bottleneck Manufacturing App streamlines the shipping process by providing users with oversight and control over the delivery of orders. Within the Sales Order module, users can schedule shipments individually or as a single shipment, allowing for efficient management of multiple shipments and ensuring prompt delivery to intended destinations. The feature supports shipments for different items or batches within a Sales Order and enables the scheduling of shipments to multiple locations. By centralizing the shipping process within the app, users can easily track and manage shipments. This feature ensures that orders are completed on time, meeting customer expectations and facilitating a smooth order fulfillment process. Bottleneck also allows you to ship directly from the Shipping Module without having to attach the shipment to a Sales Order.

Getting Product out of the Warehouse

Shipping from Shipping Module

Once you complete a production order, you can create an outbound shipment directly from the shipping module. This allows you to ship from your inventory without attaching it to an existing Sales Order.

Shipping from a Sales Order

Individual Shipments:

You can schedule and ship individual items or batches within a Sales Order separately. This option allows for flexibility in shipping specific products or quantities as needed.

Consolidated Shipment:

Instead of shipping individual items separately, you have the option to consolidate multiple items or batches within a Sales Order into a single shipment. This serves the purpose of completing the entire Sales Order at one time, and clearing up your warehouse space faster.

Multiple Shipments:

Bottleneck enables you to schedule multiple shipments for a single Sales Order. This feature is useful when you need to send different items or batches to different locations or customers as part of the same order.

Partial Shipment:

If a Sales Order contains items that are ready for shipment while others are still in production or pending availability, you can choose to ship the available items first as a partial shipment. This allows for timely delivery of available products while the remaining items are processed separately.

Split Shipment:

In certain cases, you may need to split a single Sales Order into multiple shipments based on specific requirements or logistical considerations. This feature allows you to divide the order into separate shipments, each with its own shipping details and schedule.

Stages of Outbound Shipment

Outbound Shipments can go through various lifecycle states as follows: DRAFT - The Outbound Shipment is being created or edited and is not yet finalized. SCHEDULED - The Outbound Shipment is scheduled for pickup or shipping. IN_PROCESS - The Outbound Shipment is in progress, with the warehouse team members performing the necessary tasks to prepare the shipment. COMPLETED - The Outbound Shipment has been fully processed, and the products have been shipped or delivered to the customer. CANCELED - The Outbound Shipment has been canceled and will not be fulfilled. DELETED - The Outbound Shipment has been permanently removed from the system.

Tracking Shipping Information

Freight Information

Bottleneck allows you to quickly insert and store freight information for each of your outbound shipments. This includes your freight cost, actual freight cost, and freight contact information. You can also add the shipping address, which can be preprogrammed for each of your customers, saving you repetitive task of adding it each time. Using Bottleneck’s photo capture capabilities you can also attach the Bill of Lading to each individual outbound ship.
