Bag Protection

Written by Zara Lobrin
Updated today

The Bag Protection (also referred to as the Bounce Guarantee or Protection) is not an insurance contract and is offered at Bounce’s discretion. To be eligible, you must not have intentionally or unintentionally caused harm to Bounce’s brand or reputation.

Bounce may, at its sole discretion, cover up to $10,000 (or €10,000 in Europe) per customer for items booked through Bounce that are lost, stolen, or damaged, subject to the conditions below.

How Does it Work

If your claim is approved, Bounce may compensate you for the value of the lost, stolen, or damaged items up to $10K. The compensation takes into account the item’s original value and any wear and tear.

Using unapproved payment methods is a violation of our Terms and will void eligibility for Bag Protection.

Please note:

  • Compensation is based on evidence provided and assessed on a case-by-case basis

  • Bounce does not reimburse replacement items

  • Only items booked through Bounce are eligible

  • Cash payments or any unapproved payment methods are not covered

Eligibility requirements

To activate Bag Protection, you must:

  • Have a valid Bounce booking and proof of payment

  • Follow all check-in and check-out steps, including:

    • Making your booking via Bounce

    • Tagging items and taking a photo at check-in

    • Following all in-app instructions

  • Report any issue within 24 hours of your scheduled booking end by contacting support@usebounce.com

  • Provide full details of the stored items, including condition and value at the time of storage.

  • Provide sufficient evidence that the loss, theft, or damage occurred during storage (e.g. police reports, receipts, photos, videos, or other supporting documents)

Take Note: Failure to provide adequate documentation of the requirements listed above will automatically give grounds for a rejection of the claim. Whether or not the evidence provided is to be considered adequate will be decided at Bounce’s sole discretion.

What is not covered

Bounce is not responsible for costs unrelated to your booking, including:

  • Transportation costs to or from storage locations

  • Additional accommodation or travel expenses

  • Losses caused by inability to access a Partner location

Items not properly handled or safely packaged by the customer are also excluded, including:

  • Vases and fragile glass items

  • Artwork and photographs

  • Liquids

  • Electronic devices (e.g. laptops, phones)

Other important conditions

  • Claims are not covered if you have already received compensation from another insurer or party

  • You must disclose any related insurance communication if requested

  • You may be asked to cooperate with Bounce, Partners, or law enforcement during a claim review

  • Prohibited items listed in our Terms of Service are not eligible for Bag Protection

Safety note

While we take every reasonable step to keep your belongings safe, we recommend not storing valuables such as travel documents, keys, or irreplaceable items.
