The Bag Protection, also referred to as the Bounce Guarantee or Protection does not constitute a contract of insurance and is offered at the discretion of Bounce. To be eligible, you must not have intentionally or unintentionally caused any damage to Bounce’s brand or reputation.
Bounce covers, in its sole discretion, up to $10K (or €10K in Europe) for every customer’s item (e.g. bag, luggage, personal property) booked through Bounce that is subject to theft, loss or damage subject to the limitations, exclusions, and conditions below.
How Does it Work
Bounce may compensate you for the value of the lost, stolen, or damaged items up to $10K, taking into account the item’s initial value as well as any loss caused by wear and tear. Bounce will not reimburse you for replacement items. The compensated value will be decided at Bounce’s discretion based on the evidence provided and individual circumstances.
Bounce will only cover lost, stolen, or damaged items booked through Bounce. The
Bag Protection does not apply for items paid for in cash or via other payment means which were not approved by Bounce.
Take Note:
Paying in cash or via other payment means amounts to a violation of our Terms.
The protection will not apply if you have breached our Terms.
You must not have received any compensation from any insurer or other party with respect to the loss, theft, or damage for which you are presenting the claim.
You must be prepared to disclose any relevant communication with your insurance company or other compensating party to us. Failure to do so will automatically result in the claim being rejected.
As stated in our section 4.3 in our Terms, to activate the Bag Protection, you must:
Have a valid Booking for Storage Services for the applicable item and proof of payment
Demonstrate that you have followed all check-in and check-out procedures for each item stored, including
(i) you made a Booking via the Bounce;
(ii) taking a photo of each tagged item at the time of check-in;
(iii) following any other on-screen instructions. Failure to complete any of these steps may void the Bag Protection.
Notify us about the theft, lost, or damaged items for which you wish to invoke the protection by sending us an email at support@usebounce.com within twenty-four (24) hours of the scheduled end of your Booking.
Share with us all relevant details regarding the exact items that were stored in the bag(s), luggage(s), etc. linked to your Booking. This includes the condition of the items immediately before they were stored, the condition at the time you retrieved the items, and the value of each item included in the claim.
Provide evidence beyond a reasonable doubt that the item was stolen, damaged, or lost while being stored as part of the Storage Services. Here are the following evidence that you may send:
Police Reports,
Receipts
Video footage
And other evidence
Take Note: Failure to provide adequate documentation of the requirements listed above will automatically give grounds for a rejection of the claim. Whether or not the evidence provided is to be considered adequate will be decided at Bounce’s sole discretion.
Other Non-covered Claims
Under no circumstances is Bounce responsible for costs not associated with the Booking. For example, Bounce will not be responsible for the cost of transportation to or from storage locations nor additional accommodations or flights booked as a result of not being able to locate or access the Partner location.
Cooperation
We may ask you to cooperate and communicate with relevant parties, such as the relevant Partner and law enforcement, in resolving a claim. We may also ask you to cooperate with the Partner and their Affiliates in connection with all security measures that are currently in place, and that may be in place in the future, relating to the handling, storage, retrieval, and shipping of items.
Prohibited items
To view all the prohibited items, please refer to our Terms of Service and FAQ. Prohibited items will be disqualified from the Bag Protection.
