Kansas - Coop Schools Post Season Rules

Learn about Kansas Rules for Coop Schools and participation in the Post Season.

Updated over a week ago

Kansas Athletic Association Post Season rules for cooperative agreement teams in quasi-team/individual sports requires them to compete separately in the Post Season. They must also qualify on separate teams. See more detailed information below.

Sports this pertains to include:

  • Swimming & Diving

  • Cross Country

  • Golf

  • Gymnastics

  • Tennis

  • Track & Field

  • Wrestling

How will Bound handle these set ups:

Coop Host School

  • Set up the program and levels for the existing team by following the standard Coop Set up. This stays the same.

Coop IN School

  • Create the Program and Team

  • Then in the special name field put "school name Post Season Only"

    • check the use special name checkbox.

  • This will hopefully help other schools not schedule the "coop in" school during the regular season.

  • If someone is scheduling and searches the "coop in" school as an opponent the name will pop up with post season only - hopefully that will detour them from scheduling against them but it won't prohibit them.

Kansas Swimming handbook...

  • Schools with Cooperative Agreements The KSHSAA policy requires that cooperative agreement teams in quasi-team/individual sports (including swimming & diving) compete separately at postseason (state) competition.

  • Leagues have the option of requiring cooperative teams to separate for league championship events.

  • RELAY EVENT state qualifications must be achieved during the regular season by individual schools. In other words, if 3 students from School A and 1 student from School B swim together and earn a state qualifying time in a relay event, it cannot be used as an entry qualifying time for either school.

  • For more information regarding cooperative agreements, be sure to review carefully the forms signed and agreed to by each school in a cooperative agreement.
