Create and Configure Materials Manually

Manually create materials in BRAINR and configure all required master data.• Fill in General Data and key settings like production, validity/shelf life, units, and warehouse/storage. • Validate Organization/Site and add EANs (one default per conversion type), plus any optional details.

Important Notes

  • When creating a material, the Organization section is automatically populated with data from the organization and plant of the logged-in user.

  • Depending on the organizational configuration, this Master Data is generally managed in the ERP and created through integration.

  • For bulk uploads, use the back office.

  1. Onthe Homepage, navigate to the "Materials" module in the Materials section.

  2. The module lists all materials configured in the plant. Click "Create Material" in the upper right corner to add a new material.

  3. In creation mode, fill in the General Data:

    1. Required: Name, Code, Group, Material Type, Hierarchy, and Class.

    1. Optional: Family, Classification, Grade, and Status.

    1. If applicable, check the boxes to indicate whether the material is batch-controlled, composite, a component, or requires a label to be printed.

  4. After filling in the General Data, proceed to the other sections:

    1. Production: Configure parameters to manage the material during the production process.

    1. Validity: Set expiration dates if the material has a specific shelf life.

    1. Units: Configure the base unit, margins, percentages, and determine whether the material has a variable or fixed weight. Note: EANs can only be defined after configuring the Base Unit.

    1. Warehouse: Configure information related to storage.

  5. Validate the Organization and Site (if necessary) to associate the material with its specific structure.

    1. Click Add on the corresponding tab to enter a specific Organization and Site.

  6. Define the EANs (barcodes).

    1. Add at least one EAN to the material.

    1. Important: For each conversion type, only one EAN can be defined as the default. This will be used by the system for conversions based on the Base Unit.

  7. If necessary, add optional information, such as:

    1. Grades: For materials that require classification by size or quality.

    1. Languages: Translations or specific descriptions.

    1. Statuses: Status of the material within the system.

    1. Files: Documents related to the material.

    1. Notes: Additional relevant information.

  8. After completing all settings, click Save to confirm the creation of the material.
