Creating and Adding Workspaces to an Asset

Learn the different methods to create a workspace and add assets to a workspace.

Updated over a week ago

There are a couple of ways to create workspaces to BrandKeep. You can create them when editing an asset from the Assets dashboard, or you can add a workspace to the Brand Assets tab within a brand card - and then associate the workspace to the asset from there.

Adding a workspace to an asset from the Assets dashboard

To create (or add) a workspace to an asset, first navigate to the Assets dashboard. Locate the asset and click the action menu. On the edit asset pop locate the Workspaces field.

To add an existing workspace, click on this field to view and select any workspaces you've previously created.

To add a new workspace, click on this field and start typing in your new workspace name. Click enter to apply the workspace to the asset. This new workspace will now be an option on the list of available workspaces whenever you go to add a workspace to an asset.

If your Workspace field is greyed out and not actionable (1), you must first associate the asset to a brand. Click on the Brand dropdown (2) and choose a brand from the list. Now you will be able to assign a Workspaces to the asset.

Creating and adding a workspace from the Brand Assets tab within a brand card

To create a workspace from a brand card, first click into that card. Next, click on the Brand Assets tab. Here you'll see all the assets associated with that brand. To the left of the assets you'll see a list of current workspaces. If you have no workspaces this space will only display All Assets. This means you are viewing all the assets for this brand.

To create or add a new workspace, click on the "+ Add & Edit Workspaces" button.

Here you will see a list of workspaces that have been associated with the brand you are viewing. Or, if you have no workspaces yet, you'll see just the option to add a workspace.

To add a new workspace, click on "Add Workspace". Next, click on the empty cell that populated. At the bottom of the dropdown type in the name of your workspace, then click on "+ Add new [workspace]" to add the new workspace to your brand.

You can also choose a workspace that you've previously created that display in the dropdown.

Using workspaces across brand assets allows you to filter to a workspace and view all assets associated with that workspace, regardless of which brand that asset is associated with.
