If you have an employee who is on a zero hour contract then this article will go through how to manage their working pattern and holiday allowance.
Suitable working pattern
Create and assign a working pattern that shows their expected hours (if these are to be set) or their availability over the week (if they are working flexibly).

Suitable holiday allowance
Create and assign a zero hour holiday allowance, which can be manually adjusted as the employee accrues holiday. (This can either be a daily or hourly allowance).
However, if this person is working flexibly and their working pattern reflects their availability rather than a set pattern of hours, we would recommend that you assign them an hourly holiday allowance and tick 'ignore working pattern' box on the Employee Profile > More > Work Pattern & Leave Allowance.

In the 'enter working hours' box, record the hours/days that this employee is available for rather than what they work on average (as this will be challenging to calculate).
By ticking 'ignore working pattern when booking leave', you instruct the system to ignore what hours are recorded against each possible working day and allow the employee to make a manual hourly deduction when requesting leave.
