Within Breathe you will need to assign your people with a holiday allowance so the system knows how much holiday they have for the leave year.

You can create a holiday allowance in days or hours, depending on the needs of your organisation. The allowances can be added in 15 minute increments if measuring in hours. You can also create holiday allowances that allow carryover, once you roll into your new holiday year.

How to create a holiday allowance

You can create as many holiday allowances as you wish, within your account. If you have multiple people on the same allowance i.e 25 days they will not need separate allowances, they can be assigned to the same allowance

To create a holiday allowance go to Configure > Settings > Holiday Allowances > Add +

The steps you will need to take are:

  • Set the title. We recommend using a title you can easily identify, since you'll be assigning this to your employees later

  • Choose whether the allowance is measured in days or hours

  • Select if the amount of holiday depends on length of service

  • Choose if you allow carryover and/or negative carryover

Once you are happy click on add this holiday allowance

Schedule changes to Holiday Allowances

To schedule a change of a holiday allowance simply head to the employees profile and select More > Working Pattern and Holiday Allowance

Click on the Holiday Allowance tab and press the + Icon as displayed below...

Select the new Holiday Allowance that the employee will be moving to and set the effective date and press add Holiday Allowance.

Once this has been submitted you can view and track the change and the start date in the holiday allowance tab..
