Managing Administrator Rights on Breathe
If you are the current admin user of your Breathe account and want to transfer this access over to another user then this article will take you through the process.
Additionally, please note that only one Admin user is allowed per account at any given time.
Please note, that only the Admin user of the account can do this.
To transfer Admin rights, follow these steps:
Log in to Breathe as the admin user.
Navigate to your own employee profile > More > Permissions > Organisational Roles > Edit (pencil icon) > HR User to ensure the new user has HR permissions.
Go to the profile of the user you’d like to designate as the new Admin.
Navigate to More > Permissions > Edit (Pencil Icon) and ensure it’s updated correctly.
Return to your profile. At the bottom of the permissions page, locate the Admin designation section and update it to the new HR User.
Scroll to the bottom of the page to locate the 'Admin Change' section.
Click the edit (pencil) icon and at the bottom of the page you will have the option to change the admin to another HR user
Select the employee and click 'submit'. If you can't see the person in the list, they will need to be given HR user rights first before you can assign them with the admin roles
For transferring admin rights to an external HR Advisor, ensure they are converted to an internal HR User first. Verify all auto-filled information during this process for accuracy.
To assign someone with HR user rights, go into their employee profile > more tab > permissions > mark yes as an HR user.
FAQ's
I only have 1 HR user within my account- what do I do?
If your Breathe plan is a Micro account (less than 10 employees) you will only have 1 HR user and will not be able to move admin user permissions to another HR user. In this case, we ask that the current admin user please sends an email to support@breathehr.com stating the name of the person who is to receive admin user permissions and we will help you transfer the admin permission.
Our admin user has left and we need to move permissions over
If the current Admin user has left the company, a director listed on Companies House must send an email to support@breathehr.com verifying and authorising the change.
The email should include the name of the current Admin user and the employee selected to receive Admin rights. Additionally, if an HR user exists in the account, they must enable support access within the system via Help > Enable Support to facilitate the change.
If no HR user is available, the director’s authorisation must confirm permission for the development team to enable support access.
The Director will need to include the name of the current Admin user and the name of the employee they would like to transfer the permission to.
If an employee with HR permissions is present in the account, we will require them to enable support via the Help menu option Help > Enable Support so we can make the Admin change for you.
If there isn't an HR user in the account, please ask the director to also confirm in the email that they authorise our development team to access your account to enable support for you.
Please note- for security reasons, we are unable to accept the change of admin request from the person that permissions are due to transfer to- for example, if admin permissions need to transfer to you, please provide authorisation of this from a third party.
In cases where the current Admin is unavailable, a Companies House-listed director must email support@breathehr.com, including authorisation details. The email should contain the names of both the current Admin and the prospective new Admin, granting permission for the development team to enable support if required. Ensure this information is comprehensive to facilitate the transition securely.
For transitions initiated due to an unavailable Admin, ensure the request includes explicit authorisation from a listed Company director or CEO, along with the necessary details (current and proposed Admin names). Submit this verified communication to support@breathehr.com for assistance.
I'm a client of a Breathe Partner- who is my admin user?
If you are a client of a Breathe Partner, please note that your Partner contact will be your listed admin user.
