How to Apply Color to Blocks

Add color-coded headers to your training blocks so athletes can quickly navigate their workouts.

Written by Lauren Johnson

Color to Blocks lets you assign colored headers to any block in your program, replacing the default grey with one of five colors. This makes it easier for athletes to visually distinguish between block types (warm-up, strength, conditioning, etc.) during Weight Room Mode sessions. Colors carry through to Workout Review, Print Workout, Casting View, and Download Workout.

There are three ways to set block colors in the program builder, and which one you use depends on how many blocks you want to update at once.

Option 1: Color a Single Block from the Block Header

This is the fastest way to set a color on one block and optionally apply it across the week or phase.

  • Open your program and navigate to the Week View in the program builder.

  • Hover over the block header (e.g., Warm Up) to reveal the action icons.

  • Click the paint bucket icon on the block header.

  • In the Block Color popup, select one of the five available colors: red, orange, yellow, green, or blue. Select the circle with a line through it to remove a color.

  • The color applies immediately to that single block.

Applying the color across a week or phase

If you want to apply the same color to every block with the same name (e.g., all blocks named "Warm Up"), use the options below the color swatches:

  1. Select In this week to apply the color to all blocks with that name in the current week, or select In this phase to apply it across every week in the phase.

  2. Click Save to confirm.

[Callout – Note: When applying across a week or phase, the color matches based on the block name. For example, choosing "In this week" on a block named "Warm Up" will color all "Warm Up" blocks in that week, but will not affect blocks with different names like "Activation."]

For example, choosing "In this week" on a block named "Warm Up" will color all "Warm Up" blocks in that week.

Option 2: Color a Block from the Three-Dot Menu

Use this method when you're already editing a block's settings and want to set its color at the same time.

  • Click the three-dot menu (⋮) on the block header.

  • In the panel that opens, find the Block Color row with color swatches.

  • Click a color to apply it to that block.

Tip: The three-dot menu is a great option when you're already adding notes, media, or toggling superset settings on a block. You can set the color without leaving the panel

Option 3: Color Multiple Blocks at Once with Select Multiple

Use Select Multiple when you want to apply the same color to several blocks at once, regardless of their names. This is ideal for coloring blocks across different days or coloring blocks that have different names but serve a similar purpose.

  1. Enter Select Multiple mode by clicking Select Multiple in the top-right area of the builder, or by clicking the three-dot menu on any block and choosing Select Multiple.

  2. Checkboxes appear on every block. Check the blocks you want to color.

  1. Click Set Block Color in the banner at the top of the screen.

  2. Choose your color from the popup.

Note: In Select Multiple mode, the color applies to every block you checked, regardless of block name.

Use Select Multiple when you want precise control over exactly which blocks get colored.

Option 3: Color Multiple Blocks at Once with Select Multiple

Block colors can also be selected directly on tablet during a Weight Room Mode session. This lets coaches make color updates on the fly without going back to the program builder on web.

  • Click on the block name in weight room mode

  • Make sure Workout Edits are enabled

  • Select the color for this single block

Workout Edits is available on Enterprise plans. Contact your account manager or support@bridgeathletic.com to confirm your plan includes this feature.

Resetting Block Colors

There are 3 different ways to reset colors:

1) To remove all colors from every block in your program at once:

  1. Click the paint bucket icon on any block header to open the Block Color popup.

  2. Click Reset Block Colors at the bottom of the popup.

This removes all color assignments across the entire program.

[Callout – Warning: Reset Block Colors removes colors from all blocks in the program, not just the block you opened the popup from. If you only want to clear one block, use the no-color swatch instead.]

2) To remove colors from specific blocks:

  1. Enter Select Multiple mode by clicking Select Multiple in the top-right area of the builder, or by clicking the three-dot menu on any block and choosing Select Multiple.

  2. Checkboxes appear on every block. Check the blocks you want to remove color.

  3. Click Set Block Color in the banner at the top of the screen.

  4. Select the no color option (the circle with a line through it).

3) To remove color from a single block:

1. open the Block Color popup for that block

2. Select the no color option (the circle with a line through it).

Where Athletes See Block Colors

Once you assign colors in the builder, athletes will see the colored block headers in:

  • Weight Room Mode on tablet

  • Casting View

  • Printed Workouts

  • Workout Review on web
