Program Assignment: Switching Between Program Types

Programs can be assigned in two ways: as a Calendar program with scheduled training dates or as a Playlist program without scheduled dates. For a detailed comparison of these program types, check out Calendar vs. Playlist Programs.


The Process

To change how a program is assigned, you'll need to clone it and set a new assignment type. This protects existing workout data that's already been recorded.

Cloning and reassigning creates a fresh program with the new assignment type, ensuring athletes have a clean training experience.

Important Note: The newly assigned program will start fresh. Athlete progress from the original program will not carry over to the cloned version.


How to Clone and Reassign a Program

Follow these steps to change how your program is assigned:

Step 1: Clone Your Program

  1. Navigate to your Training Library

  2. Open the program you want to change

  3. Click the three dots menu in the upper right corner

  4. Select Clone from the dropdown menu

  5. Rename the program if needed to distinguish it from the original (e.g., "Off-Season Training - Playlist")

Step 2: Assign the Cloned Program

  1. From the cloned program page, click Assign Training (blue button)

  2. Select the team(s) you want to assign the program to

  3. Select individual athletes as needed

Step 3: Choose Your Assignment Type

For Calendar Assignment:

  • Select your training days

  • Choose the start date

  • Click Assign

For Playlist Assignment:

  • Select Workout as Playlist

  • Click Next to complete the assignment

Important Considerations

This process creates a new program assignment. Athletes will:

  • See the newly assigned program in their app

  • Start with fresh progress tracking

  • Still have access to their original program until it completes or is removed

The original program remains assigned until you manually remove it or it completes naturally (for Calendar programs).

Bridge Tip: If you want to remove the old program immediately, navigate to the athlete's profile and un-assign the original program before assigning the new one.
