Coaches can prescribe exercise progression, regressions, and alternatives directly in the builder to allow for easy switches on the fly during workouts.

Whether athletes are training in-person or remote, having access to alternatives built into their workout will decrease friction and time spent on updates.

In the builder, alternatives can be added directly tied to an exercise. When programming these alternatives coaches can choose to create new prescriptions for the exercises or keep them the same as the original exercise.

Check out a video demo on this feature here

Let's break this down

  1. Start by selecting an exercise in the builder. On the pop up there is now an option to add alternatives

2. Click "Add Alternative Exercise". A pop-up will appear to select the exercises to add. Once all the exercise are selected, click "Insert"

3. Now, it's time to customize these alternatives. For each exercise set if it is a progression, regression, or alternative.

4. Next, select if the exercise will have the same prescriptions as the original or update the prescriptions.

Note: These saves automatically save so the pop-up can be closed at any time if the edits are finished

5. At the bottom. of the pop up select if you would like to apply this update to different instances within the program. For example, anywhere a Squat - Dumbbell is in this phase I can apply these alternatives

6. After these are saved, an icon will show in the top right corner of the exercise indicating alternatives are programmed.

On hover, you can at a glance view the alternative exercises.

Athlete View

Athletes are notified there are exercise alternatives available with a banner below the exercise.

When an athlete clicks on the exercise all the alternatives and their prescriptions are shown. The athlete can choose the alternative and make the switch. The switch will be applied for all sets of the workout.

One of the great benefits of this feature is athletes can swap for an alternative exercise and stay on the same program. Allowing for custom edits without individual programs.
