Using our heart rate % parameter, coaches can set training programs based on a percentage of an athlete’s maximum heart rate (HRmax). This method simplifies programming specific HRmax targets without needing to input each athlete’s data individually.
How it works:
Automatic Calculation: If an athlete’s HRmax is not entered, we automatically calculate it using the formula: 220 - age.
Updating HRmax: Athletes can update their HRmax directly through their app for more precise percentages. Coaches can also update an athlete’s HRmax on their profile. We show how athletes can do this below.
Programming:
Select Heart Rate % subParameter: Choose this option under the heart rate parameters.
Enter HRmax or Range: Input the HRmax or a range for the training program.
Athlete View:
HRmax Calculation: Athletes’ HRmax is automatically calculated based on the data in the system or using the formula. They will be shown their target heart rate or their target heart rate range based on the prescription
Required Sets: If a required set is programmed, the HR data entered by athletes will automatically update their HRmax in the system. This process helps keep their HRmax current without manual entry.
Example: Graded exercise test or max heart rate field test

Updating HR: If your athlete wants to manually update their HRmax, they can do so in the mobile app on the profile page. Learn how to do this here.
