How to Edit a Booking in Brindlechute

Update a booking when trip details change, including the experience, guest count, dates, or pricing, and follow the correct invoice prompts if the total changes.

Bookings can be edited at any stage in Brindlechute, including draft, confirmed, and post-trip bookings. This makes it easy to keep trip details accurate if a client needs to make a change.

You can edit a booking from a desktop or mobile browser. The mobile steps are below.

How to Edit a Booking

Step 1: Open the booking

Go to Bookings or find the trip on the Calendar.

Click the booking to open the Manage Booking screen.

Step 2: Click Edit

In the top right, click Edit.

This opens the booking so changes can be made.

Step 3: Update the booking details

From here, any needed booking details can be adjusted.

Common changes include:

  • changing the experience

  • updating the number of guests

  • adjusting the trip date

  • editing trip details

  • changing the price, if needed

Step 4: Change the experience if needed

To replace the current experience:

Click the X next to the existing experience to remove it.

Open the Add Item dropdown and select the new experience.

Enter the number of guests and choose the correct date or dates.

If needed, the price can also be adjusted manually.

Things to know when changing or swapping an experience

  • Guides will be unassigned. Changing the experience unassigns any guides assigned to that line item. After saving, go back and reassign them or assign new ones.

  • Older trips keep their original label. When you switch a booking to a different experience, any trips already logged under it still show the old experience name. This label is set when the booking is created and only guides see it — clients never do. New bookings show the correct name from the start.

  • Changing a trip's length (e.g., full day to half day). If you offer the shorter trip as its own experience (for example, a separate "Half Day" experience), swap the experience using the steps above, then reassign the guide. If you don't have a separate experience for the shorter trip, adjust the price on the existing experience or apply a discount to match — whichever works for your setup.

Step 5: Save the changes

Click Save.

Brindlechute will ask for confirmation before applying the update.

Click Confirm to continue.

Edit a Booking on a Mobile Browser

  1. On the Trip Calendar, tap the trip date to see that day's trips.

  2. Tap the trip.

  3. Tap Manage Booking.

  4. Tap the menu button in the bottom-left corner of the screen, then tap Edit.

  5. Make your changes. To change the trip date, tap the underlined date next to Dates under Experiences.

  6. Tap Save at the bottom of the screen.

  7. Tap Confirm to apply the change.

What Happens After Saving

  • If the booking total does not change

If the changes do not affect the invoice total, Brindlechute will show an All Set message.

    Click Confirm again to finish.

  • If the booking total changes

If the changes affect the total amount due, Brindlechute will prompt for invoice handling.

A new invoice may need to be sent so the updated balance matches the booking.

After the Booking Is Updated

Once the changes are saved, close the window by clicking the X in the top right.

The booking can then continue to be managed as usual.

Editing restarts the 7-day auto-close timer. Each edit resets the clock, and any edit that leaves a balance due will block the booking from closing until payments match the invoice again.

Editing a booking is a simple way to keep trip details up to date as plans change. If the update affects pricing, just follow the invoice prompt shown during saving so the booking and balance stay in sync.
