We're beta testing this feature right now. You won't see it in your back office unless you're part of the test group.
Currently, this feature is exclusively for in-store purchases. Therefore, items or objects with variants will not be visible in the marketplace, widget, or app.
In your webshop, you may sell clothes that come in different sizes. Rather than creating a new item for each variant of the same item, let's see how you can create variants.
Create the main item
First, let's create the main item. You may want to add a new category by clicking on "Add a category". Once this is done:
Click on "Add an item" under the corresponding category.
Add a picture.
This picture will be the main picture shown on the shop. If you want to add different pictures for your variants you will be able to do so later on.
Make sure the format of the picture is either jpg or png.
Fill in the name of the product.
The subtitle is not mandatory. You can use it to give quick details to your members about the product.
Fill in the description to give in details information about the product.
Fill in the price and supplier price.
The supplier price is the one at which you purchased the product.
Fill in the VAT or sales tax
Indicate a supplier
You can create suppliers following our helpsheet here.
As this feature is available only for in store purchase, please don't check "Available on the webshop". In any case, objects with variants won't appear on the app, marketplace or widget.
Indicate a barcode if you want it to be the same for all your variants.
No need to indicate a SKU as it will be proper to each variants.
Click on "Continue".
Adding variants
On the page appearing you will be able to add variants. If you don't want to add any, you can directly click on save.
If you want to add variants:
Click on the colour field or size field.
Write the name of the variant.
For example: if a t-shirt comes in different colours, you want to indicate "White", "Red" or "Black". if a t-shirt comes in different sizes, you want to indicate "S", "M" or "L".
Click on enter to add a new variant once you have finished to write the corresponding name.
It is not mandatory to add variants for both colour and size. You can only add variants in one of the two.
Indicate if you want the barcode to inherit from the one indicated in the main object or for bsport to generate new ones for each variants.
Click on "Save".
The main object is now created as well as all the variants.
Add variants to an existing objects
You may have already created objects in you webshop which didn't have variants, or you want to add a new variant to an object that already has some. In both cases, follow these steps:
Click on the desired object.
In the product details, click on the "Variants" tab.
If your object doesn't have any variants, click on "Add a variant".
If your object already has variants, the button will appear on the right of your screen.
The follow the same steps as showed before.
To note: if you wanted to add a new colour for all the sizes of your objects. Those sizes have already been created for previous variants. You will still have to indicate all the sizes in the size field for the new colour to be added to all the sizes.
