Saved views in Insights and Reports

Save your filters, period, columns and grouping as a view, and reopen any page exactly how you want it in one click.

A saved view stores the way you’ve set up a page (its filters, period, columns and grouping) under a name of your choice. Next time, you can open the view in one click instead of setting everything up again.

You can save views on every Insight and every Report. On Reports, bsport has also created shared views that recreate your old back-office reports, so you can still find them under the names you know.

It helps you answer questions like:

  • How do I get back to the same filters I used last week without setting them all again?

  • Can I make a page open the way I want it every time?

  • How do I get back to the standard page after changing things?

What a saved view remembers

A saved view keeps the settings of the page, not a copy of the data. Every time you open it, you see your latest numbers through the same settings.

It remembers:

  • Your filters, including anything set in the Filters panel.

  • The reporting period. 💡 If you choose a rolling period such as Last 30 days or This quarter, the view keeps rolling with time. If you choose fixed dates, it reopens on exactly those dates.

  • Switches such as Report Scope on a Report.

  • The columns you have switched on or off.

  • The Group By options you have chosen, and the date step (Day, Week, Month...).

  • The sort order of the table.

💡 Download gives you exactly what you are looking at, so a saved view is also the quickest way to produce the same spreadsheet every month: open the view, check the period, download.

Finding saved views

Everything happens from the saved views icon 🔖 at the bottom right of the page, next to the Sigma logo.

The saved views icon sits at the bottom right of every Insight and Report.

Click it to open the menu:

Menu item

What it does

Save as new view...

Saves the page as it is now under a new name. Greyed out until you have changed something on the page.

Personal views

The list of views you can open on this page. Hover over it to see them, click one to open it. Despite its name, it also lists the views shared by bsport.

Manage saved views

Opens a side panel listing every view available on this page, where you can also choose your default view.

Exit view

Leaves the view you are on and takes you back to the standard page. Greyed out when you are already on the standard page.

Hover over Personal views to see the views available on this page. Here, the four shared views of the Payments report.

Knowing which view you are on

When you are on a saved view, the icon turns green. Hover over it to see the view's name.

As soon as you change something, a Reset link appears beside the icon. Click it to discard your changes and go back to the standard page.

Reset appears beside the icon once you have changed something. The name of the view shows on hover.

Opening a saved view

Two ways:

  1. From the icon: hover over Personal views and click the view.

  2. From Manage saved views: click the view in the side panel.

The page reloads with that view's settings: here, the In-studio payments view of the Payments report switches the columns and filters to match the old back-office report.

The In-studio payments view applied. The view is highlighted in the side panel and the icon turns green.

You can keep working from there: change a filter, switch a column on, group the table. Your changes only apply to what you are looking at. They never alter the saved view itself, and nobody else sees them.

Creating your own saved view

  1. Set up the page the way you want it: filters, period, columns, Group By.

  2. Click the saved views icon 🔖 and choose Save as new view...

  3. Give the view a name you will recognise later.

  4. Tick Set as your default view if you want this page to always open this way.

  5. Click Save.

Save as new view... becomes available once you have changed something.
The Save view window: a name, and the option to make it your default.

There is no limit on how many views you can save. You can start from the standard page or from a view shared by bsport: the new view is a separate copy, so the original stays untouched.

⚠️ The views you create are personal. Only you can see them, including on the same page for other members of your team. If a colleague needs the same view, they need to set it up and save it on their own account.

Here is what that looks like on the Memberships Insight, with two personal views and Last quarter set as the default:

Two personal views on the Memberships Insight. The tick and (Default) mark the view that opens automatically.

Managing your saved views

Click the saved views icon 🔖 and choose Manage saved views. A side panel opens on the right with two tabs.

Saved views lists every named view on the page. Views prepared by bsport are grouped under Shared views and marked Shared by bsport; your own views appear there too. Click the ⋮ beside a view to:

  • Set as your default view, so the page always opens on it.

  • For your own views only, rename or delete it.

The Manage saved views panel on the Payments report, listing the shared views.

Custom views lists your recent unsaved work, labelled by date and time. Each time you change something without saving it, the page keeps your changes there automatically, so you can get back to what you were doing even if you forgot to save.

💡 If you want to keep a set-up for good, give it a name with Save as new view...: unsaved work is not meant to be kept long term.

The Custom views tab, with an unsaved set-up from the day before.

Updating one of your views

Open your view, make your changes, then click the icon 🔖 and choose Save updates to followed by the name of your view. This option only appears on views you created yourself: a view shared by bsport cannot be changed, but you can always save your version of it as a new view.

Default views

Your default view is the one the page opens on every time you visit it. Each person chooses their own, so setting a default never changes the page for your colleagues. You can make any view your default, including a view shared by bsport.

💡 If you always used the same back-office report, for example In-studio payments, set its shared view as your default on the Payments report and the page will open exactly as you are used to.

Good to know

  • Saved views follow the page they were made on. A view saved on the Payments report only appears on the Payments report.

  • Insights start without shared views. Every Insight offers saved views, but there is nothing to rebuild from the old back office, so the list stays empty until you save your own.

  • When bsport improves a page, your views carry over. If a filter or column you relied on is removed, the view opens without it. Open it, adjust what is missing and save the updates.

  • Permissions do not change. Saved views only change how a page is set up; they never give access to a page or to data you could not already see.
