There is no obligation for the parent to pay for the taxi and it is discretionary on their part.

It is therefore advised that you communicate your travel needs with the parent before the sit commences.

After the sit has ended, before the payment is authorised, the parent can add on a 'tip' payment.

This can be used to cover any travel costs, as agreed.

In our experience, most parents are willing to contribute towards a taxi home late at night, especially when their sitter has been clear about this requirement up front. So do't hesitate to drop them a friendly note before accepting a sit, stating you'll need a cab back :-)
