When we asked parents how they would usually find a babysitter, the #1 answer was 'ask my friends and family in my area if they know anyone'.
So if you have friends already using Bubble for their family, we wanted to make it really easy for you to find them. We've significantly improved the ways to find your local parent friends on Bubble, and then have made the sitters they trust, front and centre.
You can add and manage your friends from your Friends & Connections section under Account menu.
Adding friends using Bubble
Friends already on Bubble can be added by giving access to your phone contacts, searching for them by name or via a Place of Interest you share, like School, Nursery or Work. Once you add them or refer them you can see their sitters.
Adding friends directly
On the "Friends" tab on Friends & Connections page you can review and add new friends. Just click "Add friends" at the bottom of this page to get started.
Via phone contacts
If you give Bubble access to your phone book, we will securely check which of your contacts is already using Bubble and visible, and suggest them to you as a friend. You select the friends you want and add them to your friends page. You will be able to then see their sitters and they can see yours.
Search for local friends
You can search for parent friends you know on Bubble by name. If they are visible they can be added as a friend and you will see each others' sitters.
Adding friends via places of interest
Connecting to your School / Nursery
Within the Friends & Connections page you can also add your schools or nurseries to find other parents there who use Bubble.
By default adding a school or nursery you will be connected to all other parents who have added it. You can manage individual parents from within that list, and remove the whole nursery or school by clicking edit.
We have a lot of schools and nurseries already connected to Bubble, but if you can't find it submit a new one and we'll add it for you.
Connecting to your Work
You can also add your workplace to Bubble to see other parents and their sitters.
After I add them, how do I see my friends sitters?
If you have friends with trusted sitters you will see:
A 'Friends' sitters' list on the homepage
Which sitters who apply to your requests have worked with your friends. This is visible on the applicant card and then on their profiles once you click through
The trusted sitters listed on each friend's limited profile from Friends & Connections.
Referring new friends to Bubble
When you are referred to Bubble or refer parents, you are automatically also connected as friends, so you'll see each others' sitters straight away.
You can refer more friends to Bubble from your Account menu or Account > Friends & Connections > Friends > Add Friends > Invite friends for £10 credit
Removing friends
You can remove friends at any point from your Friends & Connections page. Click on any friend listed to go to their parent profile page and click Remove friend at the bottom.
Note that if you remove a parent friend, they will not be notified but you will be removed from their Friend section.
I don't want other parents to add me as a friend on Bubble
While a strong parent community is core to Bubble, we take privacy extremely seriously. Parents can choose to make their profiles complete private from other parents if they wish from the Privacy Settings.
