Coverage A (Dwelling)
Provides coverage for your house and those structures attached to it, such as a covered porch, attached deck and/or attached garage. Your dwelling coverage pays for the cost to replace or rebuild your home if it is damaged or destroyed by a covered peril.
Coverage B (Other Structures)
Covers all “other structures” that are not part of the dwelling. A CalCas policy automatically includes a limit of coverage equal to 10% of Coverage A (Dwelling) amount. An endorsement is offered to allow you to increase this Coverage B limit.
Coverage C (Personal Property)
Imagine picking up your home from its foundation, turning it upside down and shaking it. Anything that falls out of the home is considered personal property. Coverage C covers personal belongings owned by you or family members who live with you. Your policy covers losses that result from a list of specific causes, including: theft, vandalism, smoke damage, and explosion.
Coverage D (Loss of Use)
This coverage pays additional living expenses – over and above your normal household living expenses – when your property is unlivable because of a covered loss.
Coverage E (Liability Coverage)
Personal Liability coverage provides financial protection against legal obligations arising from situations such as animal injuries, your daughter breaking your neighbor’s fountain, slips/falls on your property, or your tree falling on your neighbor’s car or property. And it pays for court awarded settlements, including defense costs, up to the limit of your policy.
Coverage F (Medical Payments to Others)
Coverage F pays for medical expenses for guests and other people (not your household members) when they accidentally injure themselves at your home.
