Adding points to a poll question can be useful in various scenarios. Here are some reasons why you might consider adding points to a poll question:

  • Statistical Analysis: Assigning points to poll options can facilitate more sophisticated statistical analysis, allowing you to calculate weighted averages and extract more insights from the data.

  • Incentive or Reward Systems: In some cases, point-based polls can be used as part of an incentive or reward system. Students might earn points for participating in polls.

To edit poll points, follow the steps here:

  1. Make sure you've added points to the poll before editing points. To view whether or not your poll has points added, click on the 'Status tag' and look for the 'Points Info' section.

2. Once you've confirmed your poll has points, it's time to make edits. Click on 'Submitted by x/x users'.

3. Select the 'Submissions' option.

4. You can search for a student using their first or last name, or their .edu email address.

5. Below the points column change the point value.

Heads up: You can manually edit poll points even for users who didn't make a submission.
