Using Faxes

Careflow simplifies the process of managing referrals by integrating fax functionality into its platform. Here's how you can use Careflow to handle referrals through faxes:

Setting Up Your eFax Integration

  1. When onboarding a new facility, Careflow will provide you with unique email addresses

  2. Add these email addresses to your eFax stream to ensure that Careflow receives all referrals sent via fax.

Managing Faxes in Careflow

  1. Accessing the Fax Tab:

    • The Fax tab, located in the sidebar of your Careflow dashboard, will automatically populate with any faxes you receive through the integrated eFax stream.

  2. Handling Received Faxes:

    • Apply to an Existing Referral:

      • If the fax is a supporting document for an ongoing referral, you can attach it directly to that referral for better organization.

    • Create a New Referral:

      • Use the content of the fax to create a new referral for one or more facilities.

    • Discard Irrelevant Faxes:

      • If a fax is unrelated to referrals, you can discard it to keep your workflow streamlined.

Limitations

Careflow currently does not support sending replies for referrals received via fax.

Best Practices

Regularly checking the Fax tab ensures you stay updated on incoming referrals and documents. Additionally, discarding irrelevant faxes promptly helps maintain a clean and organized system.

By using Careflow’s fax functionality, you can efficiently manage referrals, ensuring important information is never missed and always well-organized.
