Practice Area Mappings

Overview of how practice area and stage mappings function

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Practice Area and Stage Mappings must be set up prior to a successful sync. If you add or change your practice area or stages within your Case Management System you must update them within Case Status as well. These mappings tell our API what to look for in your CMS, and without them cases will fail to sync.

Please Note: Mappings must be spelled and capitalized EXACTLY how they are in your Case Management System for them to work.

Mappings Overview

  • To edit the mappings of a Practice Area or Stage choose Edit in the top right

  • There are two fields to note:

  1. Display Name - This is the name that the Client will see when they open their app

  2. Integration Mappings - This is where you can have multiple mappings for the API to sync.

Things to note

  1. The Display Name can be used as a mapping. If you are doing 1 to 1 mapping you can just put the Display Name exactly how you have it in your Case Management System. So if you have 'Personal Injury' in your CMS then you can put 'Personal Injury' in your Display Name. If you put 'Personal injury' then it will not sync as the mapping is case sensitive.

  2. For the Integration Mappings you can map multiple to one. If you want a General Display Name such as 'Personal Injury' but in your CMS you have specific sub types you can put those in like below:

  3. You can have the same Practice Area mapped to multiple ones, or the same stage mapped to multiple practice areas. This will work as long as there are not cross over causing a break in logical order.
