Best place to start is to create a specific Track for the event.

This will ensure separating/giving access to programming, schedule, etc through membership or assigning it manually without membership.

You can create unlimited tracks - so have one for each event you run! Having one generic "Event" Track may cause memberships, programming, schedule to get confused and lost. Our recommendation is to be clear and concise with your set-up.
