Receive email alerts for your watched items

Configure Plus watch-list alerts and understand their schedule, overall preference and unsubscribe scope.

Available on Plus: your watch list can email you when watched items change. Alerts come from hello@changepilot.cloud.

Email alerts for your watch list tell you when items you already follow have meaningfully changed. They are useful for tracking an announcement through changing dates, rollout details or preparation requirements, even when the item no longer matches your usual filters.

Choose the items to follow

  1. Open an item in Message Center, Microsoft 365 Roadmap or Azure Updates.

  2. Select Watch and confirm that it is marked as watched.

  3. Open My Items → Watching to check your selections.

  4. Turn on Email alerts for your watch list and choose Daily, Weekly or Monthly, then the day and the hour in your own time zone.

  5. Changes save straight away. Select Send test email to check the email reaches you.

How the alerts work

You have one watch list alert schedule across the sources you follow. One email lists every change to your watched items in Message Center, Microsoft 365 Roadmap and Azure Updates since the last alert, with a link to each item. If nothing has changed, no email is sent.

Watching is independent of a View's query. Narrowing a product filter or changing a saved View does not stop you following an explicitly watched item. Unwatch the item when you no longer need its updates.

Watching, bookmarking and View email

A bookmark keeps an item for later reading. A watch follows subsequent changes to that item. View email discovers new and updated items matching a saved query. Use the feature that matches the job, and expect some overlap if you watch items that also qualify for a View email.

If an item does not appear

Check that it is still watched and that a meaningful change occurred in the relevant period. Finding a previously unseen item in your browser is not itself a new change to that item. A refreshed timestamp also does not automatically establish a meaningful update.

Open the item's History and original announcement to understand what changed. If the alert appears inconsistent, give support the source, item ID, expected change and approximate delivery period. The on-screen Recent activity list in My Items shows source changes to your watched items as they happen, without waiting for the email. To stop the emails, turn off Email alerts for your watch list. The unsubscribe link in a watch-list alert is intended to turn off ChangePilot alerts, including other View alerts and Monthly Top 5. Marketing, onboarding and service emails are separate. Check the state under Settings and Notifications → Notification Centre, and contact support if it disagrees with your choice. The received-email unsubscribe journey is still being verified.

Monthly day and overall preference

For Monthly, choose the day of the month as well as the local time. The 29th, 30th or 31st falls on the last day of a shorter month. Your watch-list schedule can be on while ChangePilot alerts is off; turn the master on as well if you want delivery.
