Tips for Delivering a Simple, But Wonderful Client Experience
Tips for Delivering a Simple, But Wonderful Client Experience
Updated over a week ago

When it comes to delivering an exceptional experience for your client, simplicity is your best friend. By focusing on simplicity, clear communication, and your creative expertise, you can streamline the process for both yourself and your client!

These are our top 3 tips on preparing for a session that wows your clients, without creating unnecessary work for either of you:

1. The Importance of Flexibility While Maintaining Quality

When a client books you as their photographer, they select one of your Packages, which has a set amount of time and images based on the price point. (Ex: maybe your Silver Package Tier is 1 hour long and they'll receive 10 images for $50.) However, the value you provide your clients isn’t just about the exact length of time spent photographing them - it’s about the quality of the experience and the images you deliver! If you’ve captured all images in 45 minutes, feel free to wrap up the photo shoot. To set clear expectations for your clients beforehand, in your Package descriptions you could include “up to 1 hour” for the tier that's 1 hour long, “up to 2 hours” for the 2 hour tier, and so on. This way, if you have all the images you need, neither of you will be obligated to stay for the total amount of time mentioned in the selected Package!

2. Proactively Managing Your Client's Expectations

To ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for both you and your client, it’s important to set clear expectations and proactively communicate with them from the start. Let your client know that you will carefully select the absolute best images to tell their story. This will help avoid any unnecessary back-and-forth and keep the process efficient. Ultimately the client should trust your expertise - remember that they hired you for a reason! Be confident in knowing that you’ll create a stunning final gallery for them! Note: After you deliver the gallery to them, if any additional images need to be added, you can easily do so from within the gallery (check out this article for more details!)

3. Thoughtfully Over-Deliver

Consider delivering a few extra images for a pleasant surprise to exceed your client's expectations! Don't go overboard and create too much extra work for yourself, though! For example, if they were expecting 10 images, maybe deliver 15!

Closing Thoughts

With each photo shoot, aim to create a seamless, enjoyable experience that allows your clients to trust you'll bring their vision to life. By simplifying the process, confidently making creative decisions, and delivering more than expected, you can establish lasting trust and satisfaction with your clients.

Simplicity and expertise are your biggest tools for success. Trust your instincts, lean into your artistry, and let your talent shine. Remember, they booked you for a reason!
