You’re not required to inform your landlord that you’re using Chexy, as it will appear just like any other Canadian bank account. However, you will need to provide them with your Chexy Wallet details to set up the payment. (This is a little bit different for users paying their rent with e-Transfer see here for more information).

You can set up Pre-Authorized Debit (PAD) payments using whatever process your landlord already has in place. Our platform is compatible with any payment system which accepts PAD rent payments including tenant portals like RentCafe, Yardi, Buildium, and Building Stack.

Additionally, if your landlord requests account details via a void cheque, you can easily download a void cheque with your unique information directly from your Chexy dashboard.
