Payment Activation Deadline
To help ensure your payments go through smoothly, here's what you need to know about timing when paying bills with Chexy.
Two Payment Options
Option 1: Recurring Payment
Set it and forget it! Automatic monthly payments that repeat on the same date each month.
Minimum setup time: 5 business days before your chosen monthly due date
Activation deadline: 9 PM ET, 5 business days before due date
Card charge time: Approximately 4 AM ET, 4 business days before due date
Payment sent: On your scheduled due date
Important: When setting up a recurring payment, choose a monthly due date that's at least 5 business days in the future. This date will repeat each month automatically, so you're all set going forward.
What If You Activate a Recurring Payment Late?
No stress! If you set up a recurring payment after the 5-business-day deadline, we'll simply schedule your first payment for next month instead.
Example: If your rent is due on the 1st and you set things up on the 27th (less than 5 business days away), your first payment will go out next month on the 1st. After that, you're on autopilot! 🚀
Option 2: One-Time Payment
Need to make a quick payment? We've got you covered.
Card charge time: Your credit card is charged immediately when you activate the payment.
Payment sent: 4 business days after your card is charged
No advance setup required: You can activate a one-time payment whenever you need to
Why We Need This Time
We know waiting isn't fun, but here's why the timing matters: we need to process your credit card payment, let the funds settle safely in your Chexy Wallet, and then deliver the payment to your payee right on schedule. This ensures everything goes through without a hitch!
