Why we’re asking you to re-enter your card details

Updated today

At Chexy, your trust and security are our top priorities. You may have received an email asking you to re-enter your credit card details by September 10, 2025. We want to explain why this is happening and reassure you that this request is safe and legitimate.

What’s changing

We’re upgrading to a new payments system. This upgrade will give Chexy a stronger foundation to:

  • Offer new payment features in the future

  • Maintain the highest levels of security and compliance

As part of this upgrade, we cannot transfer your existing card details from our old system to the new one. That’s why we need you to re-enter your card information.

Why this is safe

  • Secure systems: When you enter your card details, they are encrypted and securely stored. Chexy never keeps your full card number.

  • Industry compliance: Our processor is fully PCI-DSS compliant, the global standard for handling payment data.

  • Not a phishing attempt: This request is coming directly from Chexy inside our app. We will never email you asking for card details or request them through a link outside of Chexy.

How to re-enter your card details

  1. Log in to your Chexy account.

  2. Click "My Card"

  3. Click “Edit Card Details”

  4. Re-enter your card details (it can be the same one you were already using!)

That’s it! You’ll be set up on our new system going forward.

Our commitment to you

We know entering your card details again might feel inconvenient, but this step ensures Chexy continues to provide a safe and reliable way to pay your rent, bills, and taxes.

If you're currently in a locked-in period

If you received this email while you have an active payment processing, please wait until your current payment completes before updating your card details. Your existing payment will go through successfully. You can update your card information once you're no longer in the locked-in period.

Thank you for your understanding and for trusting Chexy with your payments.
