How to Use Chexy with Tenant Portals
Once you complete onboarding with Chexy, you’ll receive unique account details for your "Chexy Wallet," a digital deposit account in your name that functions like a regular bank account.
To set up your rent payment on your landlord’s tenant portal:
Log in to your tenant portal (e.g., RentCafe, Yardi, Buildium, Building Stack).
Select PAD or Bank Account as the payment method—this is typically listed under automatic withdrawals or direct debit.
Enter your Chexy Wallet banking details (account and transit number).
Complete any verification steps required by your landlord’s platform.
Microdeposit Verification for Tenant Portals
For added security, some portals require Microdeposit verification before linking your bank account. Chexy fully supports this verification process.
Once received, Chexy will email you the deposit amount so you can enter it into the portal to complete the verification.
Because of this process, we recommend first-time PAD users sign up at least 6-8 business days before their initial rent payment is due to ensure everything is set up in time.
