Can’t update your card because a payment is “in progress”? Here’s what to do

I can't re-enter my card since it's locked from a payment in progress

Updated over a month ago

We’re upgrading Chexy’s payment system. Some customers can’t edit their card because one or more recurring payments are in progress (this temporarily locks edits). Don’t worry—your payments won’t fail if you follow the path below.

Quick guide

1) Can you re-enter your card by September 18 (11:59 PM ET)?

Yes → Do nothing right now. Let the current payment finish, then update your card any time before Sep 18 and you’ll be fully covered. We’ve built buffer time for exactly this situation.

2) Can’t wait because you have many recurring payments?

Use our special update link to re-enter your card even if a payment is in progress:

Why you’re seeing the lock

When a card charge is moving through the network, we temporarily block edits to avoid duplicate charges and other glitches. Once that payment clears, editing unlocks automatically.

What happens to your payments

  • Payments already in progress will continue and complete normally.

  • Future payments will use your new card as soon as you re-enter it—no need to recreate your recurring bills.

How to update your card

Option A — Update by Sep 18 (recommended if you can wait)

  1. Let any “in-progress” payment complete.

  2. Sign in and go to My Cards (or use the “Update card” button in the email).

  3. Re-enter your card details before Sep 18, 11:59 PM ET.

Option B — Update now (even with payments in progress)

  1. Re-enter your card details.

  2. You’re set—future payments will use the new card.

FAQs

Will my payment fail before Sep 18?

No—as long as you re-enter your card by Sep 18, 11:59 PM ET, you’re covered.

Do I need to change each recurring bill?

No. Re-entering your card updates all payments linked to that card.
