Is class music licensed (PRS, PPL, GEMA, SACEM, etc.)?

Ciclo Library and CicloMusic are licensed by us — your own MP3s, Spotify, and Free Style music are licensed by your studio.

Music in every Virtual and Live class in the Ciclo Library is fully licensed and bundled into your CicloZone Studio subscription — what we call worry-free licensed music. You do not need your own PRO (Performing Rights Organisation) licence — such as PRS or PPL in the UK, GEMA in Germany, SACEM in France or SIAE in Italy — to play it in class.

What's covered — licensed by CicloZone

  • All Virtual Classes in the Ciclo Library — licensed end-to-end.

  • All Live Classes in the Ciclo Library — licensed end-to-end.

  • CicloMusic tracks used in Class Builder — the CicloMusic library is fully licensed by us, so a class you build yourself from CicloMusic is worry-free too.

In our library classes, the BPM (beats per minute) of every track is matched to the correct RPM (revolutions per minute), with verses and choruses looped to create work and recovery intervals of the right length.

Where our library music comes from

Our CicloZone library music comes from two sources, and we use both:

  • AI-generated music created with Suno, under a licence that grants commercial use; and

  • Tracks from commercial music libraries we have licensed for fitness use.

Either way, it's worry-free and licensed for studio use — you don't need your own PRS / PPL licence to play CicloZone library music in class.

What's NOT covered — your studio's own licence applies

Whenever the music is yours rather than ours, licensing it is the studio's responsibility:

  • Free Style classes — the instructor plays their own music, so your studio holds the licence (PRS / PPL / GEMA / SACEM / SIAE / etc.).

  • Your own MP3s uploaded to Class Builder — covered by your studio's own music licence, not ours.

  • Spotify, once it's available in Class Builder — same: your studio's own music licence applies. A personal Spotify subscription does not cover commercial use in a class.

Music in Class Builder — which source is covered?

The table below shows who licenses the music for each source you can use when building your own class:

Spotify is not available in Class Builder yet — "How do I build my own class with Class Builder?" explains why.
