What counts as a "missed" interval?

How CicloZone decides an interval is completed or missed using zone, RPM, position, and duration.

Each interval in a CicloZone class has a target zone. Whether the interval is completed depends on how well you executed it.

How the calculation works

For each interval, the app considers:

  • Zone intensity — were you in the target power zone?

  • RPM — were you at the target cadence range?

  • Riding position — seated or standing as specified.

  • Duration — how long you held it.

The combined result is your COL% for that interval.

Performance outcomes

You can finish each interval in one of three ways:

  • Match — at target. Counts as completed.

  • Overperform — above target. Rewarded with higher COL%.

  • Underperform — below target. COL% drops; if the deviation is large the interval is marked missed.

Whole-class success

Whether the class itself counts as completed and successful is calculated by summing performance across all target zones, expressed via COL%.

What's excluded

  • Warm-up and cool-down intervals are not counted toward COL%.

Where you'll see missed intervals

In your post-ride analytics, the Missed Intervals section shows the number not completed within tolerance, out of the total in the session.
