No audio from the studio screen — what should I check?

Sound can fail at the CicloHub, the screen, or the sound system — check them in that order.

CicloHub sends audio through HDMI to your screen — and from there to your studio sound system. So sound can fail at three points: the box, the screen, or the sound system. Check them in that order.

Check in this order

1. CicloHub / Android TV

  • Use the CicloHub remote to check the volume isn't muted or at zero.

  • Restart the CicloStudio app if recent changes haven't taken effect.

2. Screen / TV

  • If audio is routed through HDMI to the TV → TV speakers / soundbar, check the TV's volume and HDMI audio output.

  • Most TVs have an audio output setting. Set it to match your wiring: HDMI ARC (Audio Return Channel) if your sound system is connected to the TV's ARC port, Optical if connected by optical cable, or TV speakers if you're using the TV's built-in speakers.

3. Studio sound system

  • If the studio sound system is connected by a digital audio link, check that connection and the amp/receiver volume.

  • Try a different source — plug a phone into the same input. If that plays, the sound system is fine and the problem is upstream.

Best-practice setup

  • Set the CicloHub output volume to a fixed comfortable level (e.g. 70%).

  • Adjust the rest with your studio sound system — that gives consistent quality and avoids clipping.

Get the class running now — rider headphones

If you can't fix the audio before the class starts, you don't have to cancel. Music can be delivered directly to riders' phones via the CicloZone app, and riders use their own headphones. It's a useful backup, and it's also how studios run early-morning quiet hours.

Still no sound?

If you've checked the CicloHub, the screen and the sound system and there's still no audio, ask in the chat and include:

  • Whether a phone plugged into the same input plays sound. This is the most useful single answer — it tells us immediately whether the problem is the sound system or CicloStudio.

  • Your CicloHub or Android TV model.

  • Your screen / TV make and model.

  • How the sound system is wired — HDMI ARC, optical, or TV speakers.

  • Your studio name.
