Attention casual teachers K-6: Road safety education professional learning

The Road Safety Education team has scheduled a 5-hour professional learning workshop, specifically for casual teachers to attend on school staff development days.

Participants will use the PDHPE K-6 syllabus (2024) and the Safety Town website to explore and develop road safety teaching and learning activities within a K-6 context.

Course: Road safety education: Safer behaviours through PDHPE K-6

Monday 21 July 2025 (Term 3, Week 1)

8:45am-3pm

Online via TEAMS - camera and microphone required

NB: attending this free workshop is fully optional and NOT a paid casual day.

Completing this course will support teachers to meet the following professional standards:

  • Standard 2: Know the content and how to teach it
    2.1.2 - Organise content into coherent, well-sequenced learning and teaching programs.

  • Standard 3: Plan for and implement effective teaching and learning
    3.4.2 - Select and/or create and use a range of resources, including ICT, to engage students in their learning.
