πŸ“ Availability: Uber integration is currently available in the US and Puerto Rico.

How to Activate Uber

Follow these three simple steps to activate and set up Uber for order management.

Step 1: Activating Uber

  1. Go to Settings β†’ Admin β†’ Store Settings β†’ Services Offered.

  2. Toggle on Uber Pickup and Delivery.

  3. Press Submit to save your changes.

After activation, you’ll see a truck icon 🚚 in the top-right corner of your POS. By clicking this icon, you can access the Journeys Dashboard.

Step 2: Setting Up Uber Preferences

  • After activation, go to Settings β†’ Admin β†’ Pickup and Delivery β†’ Uber (if DoorDash is also enabled, this section will be labeled DoorDash / Uber).

  • Configure the following Uber settings:

Require Journey Confirmation:

Uber orders are automatically accepted and confirmed (this option is only relevant for DoorDash).

Send Push Notifications for Journey Status Changes:

Enable push notifications to keep customers informed of their order status.

Send SMS Notifications:

Enable SMS notifications for journey status changes. SMS credits are required.

Require Signature on Delivery:

Uber drivers will collect the customer's signature upon delivery, which will be attached as a photo to the order details.

Delivery Verification:

  • Choose between Photo Proof or No Verification.

  • Photo Proof requires the Uber driver to capture a photo of the delivery, which will be attached to the order details.

Flat Journey Fee:

Set a specific journey fee. The customer will pay the selected amount, and the store will cover the rest.

Journey Fee Coverage:

  • Choose how much of the journey fee you’d like to cover (e.g., for a $7.00 journey fee, you can cover $2.50, leaving the customer to pay $5.00).

  • Leave this field blank if you do not wish to cover any portion of the fee.

  • Tip: Learn more about Uber's fee structure and how to manage Uber journey credits in CleanCloud.

Journey Credits:

Purchase credits in bundles ranging from $200 to $2,500. If credits drop below $100, customers cannot book new Uber orders. You can enable Auto Top-Up when credits fall below 300 to avoid running out.

Pickup and Delivery Options:

Set the business hours for Uber drivers by selecting the days and times you want DoorDash orders to be available.

  • The minimum time range for a day is 4 hours.

  • Within the selected time range, customers will be able to choose pickup and delivery times within a 1-hour window.

  • Orders placed after the cut-off time (3 hours before the end of the day's availability) will be processed the following day.

  • For route-specific availability, visit Settings β†’ Admin β†’ Pickup and Delivery β†’ Routes β†’ 'Custom DoorDash / Uber Business Hours'.

Address Information:

Ensure your store address is accurate, and add notes for drivers to help them easily locate your store. Include latitude and longitude coordinates for more precision.

βœ… Press Submit to save your preferences. You can always return to adjust these settings later.

Step 3: Uber Routes

  1. Go to Settings β†’ Admin β†’ Pickup and Delivery β†’ Routes.

  2. Select an existing route or create a new route specifically for Uber.

  3. Click the pencil icon to edit the route.

  4. Toggle on DoorDash / Uber Active.

  5. A new field, Custom DoorDash / Uber Business Hours, will appear, allowing you to set specific times and dates for Uber integration.

  6. Press Submit to save your changes.

πŸŽ‰ Done! Uber is now fully enabled and set up. Your customers can start placing Uber pickup and delivery orders through the customer app or web booking tool. You’re now ready to process Uber orders directly via the POS.
