Clinician Nexus is designed to help you, as a student, manage your clinical experiences from start to finish. The job shadow and observations applications available in Clinician Nexus are posted and managed by a clinical site coordinator at the hospital or clinic.

Steps to take before applying
Before applying to clinical experiences, please be sure to select a role as a student:

You can select the school or organization that you attend(ed) or work for or if neither of those are applicable, you can select the Clinician Nexus sample school:
Searching for rotations
Once this is complete, you can search for available experiences:
Click find clinical experiences on the left dashboard menu
On the search page:
Enter search criteria and/or filter for clinical experience of interest.
You can use the map to find by location.
From the search results, click on a listing to learn more about it.
If interested, click the Start application button:
Applying for rotations
After clicking start application button, you will be automatically directed to the application.
Complete the Schedule, Learning objectives, and Application steps.
Click the Save changes button at the top of your screen to save your work and return to the application at a later time, if needed. To return to your application, simply click on the rotation card displayed on your Rotation dashboard.
Click the Cancel rotation button if you no longer want to continue with your application.
Click the Save and submit request button once your application is complete to formally submit your application to the clinical site.
Once you submit, your application will automatically transition from Unsubmitted status to Pending status:

Completing onboarding steps
If your application is accepted, your clinical experience information will move into Onboarding status. This means that you have site-specific onboarding steps to complete. Make sure to complete the steps on time so you're ready for your first day!
To view and complete all onboarding steps for your rotation(s):
Click on the clinical experience card to open the details window.
In the details, you can view information about your clinical experience.
Scroll to the bottom of the window to access your onboarding steps that need to be completed.
Note: Sometimes individual onboarding steps will need to be completed by your school coordinator or the clinical site coordinator. If that step hasn't been completed yet, your rotation will remain in Onboarding status until the coordinator has completed it.
Once these steps are complete and/or verified (if applicable), your clinical experience will move into Ready status. Click here for a list of all rotation statuses and definitions.

Click on the experience from your dashboard.
Add your message in the comment box.
Click Add comment.
Please note: all parties on the rotation will be notified when a new comment has been added.
