How to connect your Xero account to Clockwork

Connecting Xero

Connecting Xero to Clockwork takes just a few minutes. Once connected, Clockwork automatically imports your financial data and builds your Financial Model, Cash Flow Forecast, and Metrics.

Before you start

  • You'll need admin-level credentials in Xero to authorize the connection.

  • If you manage multiple Xero organizations, make sure you select the correct one during setup.

How to connect

  1. Log in to your Clockwork account. If you're adding a new company, click + Add Company from the company selector in the top left.

  2. Enter the company name and click Next.

  3. Select Xero from the list of integration options.

  4. You'll be redirected to Xero's login page. Sign in with your admin credentials.

  5. Select the Xero organization you want to connect and click Allow Access.

  6. You'll be redirected back to Clockwork. The initial data import will begin automatically.

What happens during the initial import?

Clockwork pulls up to 3 years of financial history from Xero and uses it to:

  • Build your Financial Model with historical actuals and an AI-generated baseline forecast

  • Generate your Cash Flow Forecast, including payment timing learned from your transaction history

  • Calculate your Metrics dashboard with key business KPIs

Most accounts are fully set up within a few minutes.

Ongoing sync

Clockwork automatically syncs with Xero approximately once per hour so your models always reflect the latest data. If you need to trigger a manual sync, go to Settings → Connected Data.

Disconnecting or reconnecting Xero

To disconnect or reconnect your Xero integration, go to Settings → Connected Data. Only the Master Admin can disconnect the accounting software integration.
