Our team have identified an issue affecting some Samsung (OneUI) users when attempting to upload videos within the CoachRx app.
This error occurs specifically when a video has been edited and saved over the original file.
Cause of the Issue
The crash is due to a limitation in the Android ContentResolver:
When a user trims or edits a video and saves it over the original file, Android is unable to determine the file type correctly.
When this file is selected for upload using the built-in Android image picker, the app crashes.
Workaround
To prevent this issue, follow these steps:
Instead of saving over the original video after editing, tap the Options menu.
Choose Save as copy instead of Save.
This will create a new version of the video, which should upload without issues.
While we understand that this may not be the most convenient solution, please note that this is not an issue with the CoachRx app but rather a bug within Android's OneUI and the Expo Image Picker. As a result, we are unable to resolve it directly. However, we are hopeful that Samsung will address this issue in a future software update.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
