Overview

The Collapsible Text content type allows you to present expandable text sections that users can open and close. This content type is perfect for organizing information in a clean, space-efficient way while giving users control over what they want to read in detail.

The collapsible text content block can display content to the user in 2 different formats:

  • Default: Standard collapsible section with a simple expand/collapse functionality

  • Text Preview: Shows a preview of the content before users expand the full section

The primary, secondary, dark and light colors can be modified in the Style tab. For more information on how to update your app's color palette, you can review the Styles Overview article.

How to use the Collapsible Text content type

1. In the Content tab in Cogniss Creator, navigate to the Activity then Topic where you want to add your content block.

2. Click on Create new content block in the top right of the page.

3. In the content block pop up, assign a Data Label. For Collapsible Text content, the Data Label serves as the clickable header that users click to expand.

4. In Type, click on the dropdown menu and select COLLAPSIBLE_TEXT_CONTENT.

5. The User facing label is the text content that the user will see when they expand the header.

6. In Upload media you can upload an image to appear with your collapsible text box.

7. Choose how you'd like your content to be displayed in Display Type by clicking on the dropdown menu and selecting from Default or Text Preview.

8. In Display Color you can select from the colors you've selected in Style to add a background color to the collapsible text box.

9. If you need to add a Local Criteria to your content block, click on Add criteria and select the criteria using the dropdown menu.

10. Click Save Changes at the bottom of the content block pop up.
