About Text Response

The "Text Response" content block allows users to provide written responses to enquiries or prompts displayed within the application. This content type provides users with a designated field in which they can input their responses in the form of free text. This is a useful tool for when you’d like to gather more qualitative information from your users.

There are two different ways the ‘Text_Response’ content block can be displayed to users:

  • Default: The default value in a text input field, like 'Enter your email address / Phone number here,' guides users on what to input. It's a suggested placeholder that users can change to their text.

  • Long: A 'long' text input field accommodates larger text entries, ideal for multiple lines or extensive data like paragraphs, comments, or descriptions. These fields can be fixed or expandable, allowing users to input more content.

How to use it

To use it, simply:

  1. Create a new content block by clicking the 'Create new content block' button

  2. Assign a data label to the content block

  3. Choose 'TEXT_RESPONSE' as the type

  4. Type/paste in the text you'd like displayed as the prompt in the ‘User Facing Label’.

  5. Choose the type of ‘Text Response’ you’d like your users to provide (i.e. default or long)

  6. Save your changes
