When students submit late work or you want to pull new writing into CoGrader, click Check for updates to bring in only the new submissions:
Step 1: Approve Existing Grades
Before importing new submissions, make sure to approve any assignments you've already graded
This keeps existing grades from being reset when you check for updates
Note: Checking for updates or regrading generally does not use up grading credits, unless new students or deleted students' work are added or re-added during the update.
Step 2: Delete Ungraded Submissions
Navigate to your assignment dashboard
Remove any pending submissions that weren't graded (these are typically empty placeholders for students who hadn't submitted yet)
Step 3: Check for New Submissions
Click the "Check for updates" button to import the new late submissions
Only new submissions will be imported, while your approved grades remain unchanged
Updating a Single Submission
If a student changed their work after it was imported:
Open the submission in the feedback edit screen
Click Check for updates to pull in the latest version.
Tips
Approve grades before you check for updates
You can check for updates as often as new late work comes in
Approved grades aren't affected when you check for updates
