Feedback Doesn’t Appear in Google Classroom

What’s happening: You exported feedback, but it does not show up in the student's Google Doc or Classroom assignment.

What to check:

  • Submission must be approved: CoGrader only exports feedback for submissions marked as Approved. If a submission is still "Needs Review," feedback won’t go anywhere.

  • Try exporting again: Click the blue Export button and choose “Send to Google Classroom.” A second try often clears up sync delays.

  • Google account access: Make sure the Google account you're trying to send the feedback to is where the assignment was given.

Google Classroom Export Option Isn’t Showing Up

What’s happening: You're on the Export menu, but the "Send to Google Classroom" option is missing.

Why this happens:

  • This option is only available for assignments that were initially imported from Google Classroom.

How to fix it:

  • Check that the assignment was created using the “Import from Google Classroom” flow, not manually or from Canvas/Schoology.

  • If you created the assignment manually but now want to use Classroom export, you’ll need to recreate the assignment via import.

“Export” Button is Greyed Out or Unresponsive

What’s happening: You can’t click Export at all, or nothing happens when you do.

What to check:

  • No submission approved: CoGrader only exports feedback for submissions marked as Approved. If all submissions still say "Needs Review," the export option would be greyed out

  • You're not logged into a connected Google account

  • Internet or session timeout. Refresh the browser and try again.

  • Cache issue. Open CoGrader in an incognito window and test again.
