08 - Check the prompt

Make sure the prompt of the assignment is concise but provides enough context for CoGrader. If it wasn't imported, type it down now. There are instructions on how to write the prompts in this page.

09 - Select the grade level

10 - Select the rubric

11 - Import and Grade

Just click "Import and grade", and your papers should be imported.

Having Trouble Grading a Submission?

If you see an error like “Can’t Grade, Change the permission settings of the doc,” it means CoGrader wasn’t able to access the student’s file.

If you see this, press Sync once (or multiple times). This often refreshes file permissions.

If that doesn’t help, make sure:

  • You’re signed into the correct Google account.

  • The student’s file is shared with Editor access.

  • Google Drive and Classroom APIs are enabled in your school domain.

Once these are resolved, you should be able to proceed with grading.
