When using Google Classroom, CoGrader only recognizes quizzes created using the Quiz Assignment option.

Here’s what teachers should keep in mind:

Works:

  • Select Quiz Assignment from the Create menu (see screenshot above).

  • This automatically generates a Google Form linked to the assignment.

  • You can edit questions directly in that form, and CoGrader will detect it as a valid quiz.

Doesn’t Work:

  • Using the Assignment option instead of the Quiz Assignment.

  • Removing the automatically created form and attaching another one manually (via link or “Create” option).

  • Adding a new form to a regular assignment.

Assignments created this way won’t appear in CoGrader, since they aren’t identified as quizzes.

If you accidentally delete the automatically created form:
Create a new assignment and choose Quiz Assignment again. This will generate a fresh linked form that CoGrader can recognize.

Summary

To ensure your quizzes sync correctly with CoGrader:

  • Always choose Quiz Assignment, not Assignment, in Google Classroom.

  • Don’t remove or replace the form automatically generated.

  • If you deleted the form, recreate the quiz using Quiz Assignment.

Only quizzes created with the Quiz Assignment option will appear in CoGrader.
