Note: If your school uses Turnitin, it might be faster to import or download submissions from there before uploading to CoGrader. Several teachers mentioned that Turnitin makes it easier to access and download all student files at once.
If you use Microsoft Teams, you may need to download student work individually, which can take more time. In that case, using Turnitin as a source (if available) can save you significant setup time.
If you haven't created a class/assignment:
Step 1: Go to CoGrader and click "Grade +" or "Grade Essays".
Step 2: Click "Create Manually".
Step 3: Fill the inputs with the Class Name, the Assignment name, Prompt, Pick a grade level, and a rubric.
Ensure that the Class Name, Assignment Name, and Prompt fields are filled out as they are required for CoGrader to accurately process the assignment.
Step 4: Click "Upload files"
If you have created a class/assignment:
Step 1: Go to your assignment and click "Add submissions". Step 2: Click on "Import Files". Step 3: Upload images, pdf, or supported file formats like csv files, with the student submission(s) you want to grade.
Note: CoGrader permits only one file per submission. For multi-file assignments, there is another workflow.

Step 1: Go to CoGrader and click "Grade +" to create a new class. You will see an option to grade an essay or a quiz, or you can directly click "Grade Essay" or "Grade Quiz" from the homepage.
Step 2: Click "Create Manually".
Step 3: Fill the inputs with the Class Name, the Assignment name, Prompt, Pick a grade level and a rubric.
Step 4: Click "Upload files"
If you have created a class/assignment:
Step 1: Go to your assignment and click "Add submissions".
Step 2: Click on "Upload Files".
Step 3: Upload images, pdf, or other supported file formats with the student submission(s) you want to grade. Ensure all files comply with CoGrader's guidelines. Note: CoGrader permits only one file per submission. If you have multiple parts for an assignment, use this workflow.
